Krang Shuri is a waterfall near Amlarem in the West Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya, known for the blue-green pool at its base. It is about 85 km from Shillong and 30 km from Jowai, followed by a short walk down. Go from October to December for good flow and clearer water.
The water comes off limestone hills, which gives the pool its blue-green colour when the flow is steady and the silt has settled. A short trail leads down to the edge of the pool, where you can sit by the water or swim.
You may see it spelt Krangshuri or Krang Suri; they are the same falls.
Parents can enjoy the view from the upper viewpoint.
Small stalls. Carry snacks.
